    Origin: PG [a word of Pre-Greek origin]X [probably]
    Etymology: Unknown. Lewy Fremdw. 47 thinks it is Semitic, Krause KZ 67, 213 Thracian (IE. aḱ- `point', either from the leaves or the sharp aroma [?]). - Not to ἀρίσαρον. Cf. Strömberg Pflanzennamen 158. A priori a Pre-Greek word is most probable.
